2005 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

2005 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

Coming on the heels of our highly rated inaugural 2004 vintage, this Pinot Noir promises to be another resounding hit! Whereas the 2004 was produced from a single Pinot Noir clone, the 2005 combines grape clones 115 and 777 from this same vineyard.
The wine is huge now and will take on additional weight in the bottle over the next year. The nose exudes floral overtones, complimented by smoke and ripe cherries. Roasted elements are very apparent. On the palate this is a lush wine with substantial body, nice tannic structure and extraordinary length. We love this wine!

First Vintage: 2004 Release: Spring Cases Produced: 230

Sangiacomo Vineyard

Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap

Sangiacomo Vineyard on Roberts Road near Cotati has been Sojourn’s flagship Pinot noir vineyard since 2004. This exceptional site was developed in an old creekbed at the western base of Sonoma Mountain. In summer and fall, cool air and fog from the Pacific Ocean get trapped here, allowing for uncommonly long hangtimes without sacrificing acidity and balance.
