2012 Home Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley

2012 Home Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley

This vineyard was planted by proprietor Craig Haserot in 2002 and is located at the southwestern edge of Sonoma Valley. The 2012 vintage is the eighth from this vineyard. The weather patterns in Sonoma in 2012 were perfect for ripening Bordeaux varietals. This is a showy style of Cabernet Sauvignon, with complex aromas of blueberry and cocoa popping out of the glass. It has a pleasant, sweet entry with seductive silky tannins and flavors of blue fruit, licorice and chocolate. The dark fruit aromas express themselves early with just a hint of mint from the neighboring Eucalyptus trees. The textures are big and lush with fine tannins that linger on the finish and keep your lips smacking for another taste. This wine provides superb value at only $48!

First Vintage: 2005 Release: Spring Cases Produced: 225

Home Ranch Vineyard

Sonoma Valley

Planted by Sojourn Founder Craig Haserot, the Home Ranch Vineyard is located just 10 minutes northwest of the town of Sonoma. The vineyard sits in a small bowl protected by the southern edge of Sonoma Mountain. The microclimate averages 3 to 5 degrees warmer than downtown Sonoma. The heat brings Cabernet Sauvignon to full maturity, for dark, concentrated wines.
