2013 Campbell Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

2013 Campbell Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

2013 was our third vintage sourcing fruit from Campbell Ranch Vineyard. Famed vineyard manager Ulises Valdez leases a portion of the vineyard and has developed it into a world-class Pinot noir site. Campbell Ranch is located in the remote coastal mountains along the northern Sonoma Coast near Annapolis. Surrounded by redwoods at approximately 750 feet above the Pacific Ocean, the salty sea air and ocean breezes are ever present, with thick fog receding each day to present ideal ripening conditions for Pinot noir. Ten percent of the grapes were fermented with stems, adding verve and nuance. Aromas leap from the glass, with a complex array of tropical fruit and red cherries. It has medium-body with lush texture, great structure and balance, and a long, silky finish.
