2023 Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2023 Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Fresh natural acidity, ample structure and deep bramble berry flavors characterize this 2023 vintage Pinot Noir. The cool summer and moderate growing season allowed the vines to ripen at a steady pace, with longer hang times than we typically experience at Riddle Vineyard. These mild conditions resulted in a Pinot Noir that is more “Burgundian” in nature, with exceptional structure and aging potential. Mt Eden clone provides the richly textured core of this wine, while clone 115 contributes bold fruit and silky texture. The Pommard block balances the blend, providing fresh acidity and earthy notes.

"The 2023 Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir was sourced from this foggy, Sonoma Coast AVA location that was planted back in 2008. This offers considerably more dark fruits than the ’23 Reuling, as loamy soils and cola notes parade with suggestions of forest floor and ripe fig on the palate." - Owen Bargreen
