We source our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from highly regarded vineyards in both Napa and Sonoma counties. From the Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III in the renowned Rutherford appellation to the Oakville Ranch Vineyard in Oakville, each site contributes its own unique character to the fruit. Our philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar gives each wine a terroir-driven personality that expresses itself fully in the finished wine.
In 2016, early budbreak, uneven spring weather, and the fourth consecutive year of drought gave us small, concentrated berries. This wine, from the renowned Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III in Rutherford, offers big aromas and flavors of dark cherry, earth, and the mocha notes of the classic Rutherford Dust profile.
Home Ranch Vineyard was planted by Sojourn proprietor Craig Haserot in 2002. Tucked away in the southwest corner of Sonoma Valley, this warm site brings Cabernet Sauvignon to full ripeness. Our 2016 vintage offers blueberry character accented with hints of cassis and mocha–all supported by silky tannins over an extended finish.
Our Proprietary Cuvée, made only in exceptional vintage years, is a blend of grapes from Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III in Rutherford and the exclusive hillside Oakville Ranch Vineyard. Idyllic conditions in 2016 allowed us to craft an impressive, balanced wine with gorgeous red and dark fruit aromas that lead flavors of dark cherry and mouth-watering chocolate.
Oakville Ranch Vineyard sits at 1,400 feet in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains at the eastern edge of the renowned Oakville District, under the care of esteemed organic viticulturist Phil Coturri. Cool Pacific breezes, warm air from the valley, and soils of rock, clay, loam, and basalt all combine to produce wines of great structure, power, and depth. The lauded 2016 vintage provided ideal weather conditions for the grapes to ripen optimally.
Oakville Ranch Vineyard–the backbone of our Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon–dominates the blend of our generous and supple 2016 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine spent nearly four weeks fermenting on skins to ensure that the tannins and fruit flavors were balanced. The resulting wine is rich and vibrant, offering vivid flavors of blackberry, raspberry, cassis and mocha.
