2022 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
2022 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
Atlas Peak is located on the western slopes of the Vaca Mountains. Its history as a wine region began in the 1800s, but the Atlas Peak AVA was formally designated in 1992. In 2022, we crafted a balanced and complex Cabernet Sauvignon with fruit from Stagecoach Vineyard and two impressive smaller vineyards on Atlas Peak to showcase the terroir of this distinctive mountainside. The lots from Stagecoach provided a structured foundation, while the neighboring vineyards contributed notes of blue and dark fruit, dark chocolate, silky tannins and minerality. This final blend is a bold and richly layered Cabernet Sauvignon, and it brilliantly embodies the essence of the Atlas Peak appellation.

"The 2022 ‘Atlas Peak’ Cabernet Sauvignon is densely colored in the glass. Coming from this hot vintage, this delivers mocha, tar and rocky soils on the palate, alongside creme de cassis notes. Very good, with serious weight and good verve, enjoy over the next ten plus years." - Owen Bargreen

"A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, Sojourn's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas Peak is impressively dark hued in the glass. Raspberry and blueberry fruit emerge on the nose, framed by gentle vanilla and cedar shadings (it matured in 70% new French oak), while the medium to full-bodied palate is richly concentrated and softly tannic, finishing in a lingering wash of dusty fruit." - Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
