We are thrilled to work with two outstanding blocks of Chardonnay from the famed Durell Vineyard. These two blocks have produced the Sojourn Durell Chardonnay since 2012. Both blocks are planted to 100% Old Wente clone and combine with synergy to produce an intense Chardonnay with persistent structure. The older Hill block produces small clusters of hen and chick berries, providing extraordinary flavors, complexity and texture. The younger vines of the Barn block produce small yields of fruit with concentrated, lively and exotic characteristics. In 2023, we picked each block ten days apart and fermented them separately. This wine offers delightful notes of citrus and apple alongside refreshing minerality.

"The 2023 ‘Durell Vineyard’ Chardonnay comes from this esteemed site that neighbors the Pacific Ocean. A notch better than the ’22, this comes off as wonderfully textured and salty stuff, offering orange blossom and vanilla creme brûlée tones alongside lemon curd and suggestions of salty soils on the palate. Refined and sleek, enjoy now and over the next eight to ten years. Drink 2025-2033" - Owen Bargreen
