2013 Reuling Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

2013 Reuling Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

Reuling Vineyard is located in the Sonoma Coast AVA, just off highway 116 between Graton and Forestville. It is comprised of 12.2 acres of Pinot noir planted to three unique clones: Calera, and two distinct “suitcase” clones from the Vosne-Romanee region of Burgundy. Mark Aubert crafted a highly rated single vineyard Pinot noir from Reuling Vineyard for nearly ten years from 2002 – 2011. This is an extraordinary site for California Pinot noir. It’s rare mix of Burgundy suite-case clones is very unique to California, and it has become an icon of the Sonoma Coast appellation. This wine offers robust aromas of red fruit, earth and forest floor, and opens up to mushroom and truffle notes that are unusual and intriguing for a California Pinot. With your first sip you will notice a sweet, subtle entry, exceptional texture and concentration, and a nice long finish. “This wine really pushes the savory aspects of Pinot noir. There is a foundation of earth that the fruit sits right on top of. It’s really Pinot noir as I like it.” – Erich Bradley
